Validation is addictive

Well I'll be the darned. I go on and on about myself and whataya know...my post elicited more comments than I've ever had. :) I even had lurkers come out of lurkdom! Careful, y'all, you might have me spoutin' off more often. 'Cause isn't it validation that helps us feel secure and confident with who we are? I can 'look into the corners of my soul' and find something, but without validation from those around me, it doesn't become real. Check out this great clip I found of Carol Burnett. About 5 1/2 min. in she discusses what she finds when she 'looks into the corner of her soul....' & her need for validation is obvious as she stomps "I AM TALKING ABOUT ME." Gotta love Eunice.

While you're there, ask yourself, 'who does she remind me of?' One of my best friends insists that I am a spittin' image of Carol Burnett. Her facial expressions, mannerisms, etc. She says it's me to a T. Do you see it? I can't say that I do. OK, maybe in the teeniest way. But really it's what you think that matters, c'mon -- validate me!
