It's great being 5
Five years ago today I was sitting in my last pre-natal class at Orem Community Hospital. By the time it was over, I was pretty sure I was in labor. My contractions were coming on strong and within 5-10 minutes of each other. We drove home, packed my bags and headed back to the hospital as the contractions got even closer. I labored through the night and with the relief the epidural brought on, I even got some sleep. At 10:14 am our screaming bundle of joy entered this world. Seriously, he didn't let up...the nurses kept laughing and commenting that he'd be an opera singer one day. Unfortunately the crying was not short-lived. He cried for most of his first 8 months. We got through it somehow & it was well worth it. Our Eli can still be demanding and opinionated at times, but I don't know of anyone on Earth more grateful to be a mother. I love being a mom to such an inquisitive, talkative, observant, sensitive, intelligent and entertaining boy. Happy, happy birthday Mr. E!
