It was a fun fourth of July around here. It all started a few days prior at the neighborhood BBQ/ bike parade/firework show. It's so much fun to see all the red, white and blue and get together with all the people on our streets. Eli had a minor fall in the parade, but hopped back up and finished the race...er, parade.
The day of the fourth was great! Eli headed off to the parade with grandma and grandpa and we got to spend some time alone. We shopped and ate out.
Later it was off to the Stadium of Fire! We've been to this several years, but this was one of my favorites...and it wasn't because of Miley. The firework show was fantastic!!! I absolutely love fireworks. In fact, I want them at my funeral one day. No tears and flowers. I want something that celebrates a life well lived & that would be perfect. Anyway, a weird thought to have in the middle of a great firework show. But, the 4th always gets me sentimental & I always cry just a little. I love our country & I'm grateful for our freedoms. I'm also grateful for a God that watches over us in this great land. That's another reason I like fireworks. It's the only time when we're all looking upward. Upward and not at each other or ourselves. Just upward to Him who created it all.

what an amazing thought, that we are all looking upward. I hope I can remember that evry year!
I'm not announcing until Wednesday.....you will just have to wait and see....lol
What a great thought. I now what fireworks at my funeral too, I love that idea. What a great holiday, I love it too. I am glad you and your family had a good one.
Enjoy the Utah festivities and fireworks always. Because you know what it is just not the same in South Carolina. It is just different. I think next year we will create our own traditions.
