After seeing this on Kami's & Laurie's blog, I knew I wanted to play. Here are the rules: take your ipod (or other mp3 device) and put it on shuffle. List the first 10 songs that come up & no skipping! My music tastes are very eclectic, this ought to be interesting.
1. Cher, When the Money's Gone. LOVE Cher. Her stuff always makes me want to jump up and dance. I'll hold back for the moment though :)
2. DaVinci, Feel the Mighty High. Part of my workout music repertoire. Michael has introduced me to all kinds of techno stuff that at first I was totally turned off by, but then learned that it's fabulous to run to!
3. Monsta, That's What I am. See above--great beat on this one.
4. Peter Brienholt & Big Parade, The Fool in the Tavern. ABSOLUTELY love and adore Peter B. I've been following him since his early days when he did institute concerts up at USU. I've been to countless concerts & have all his albums. If you want a GREAT Christmas album, check his out--it's fantastic!
5. Josh Groban, You're Still You. This song always makes a little tear swell in my eye. It reminds me of my husband for some reason, he's such a steady and stable presence in my life, I gain strength just by being near him.
6. Sara Evans, Give In. Yes, I even like country music. This album, Restless, is a great one. It makes me want to smile all day.
7. Celine Dion, Sleep Tonight. This comes from a wonderful album of songs all about babies. I used some of them when I made a video montage for Eli's first year. So cute and tender :)
8. Carrie Underwood, Some Hearts. Have loved her since I originally saw her on American Idol. She has only gotten better with time. Anyone see her on the CMA awards last night? Wow. She's so beautiful and incredibly talented.
9. Andy Pratt, Avenging Annie. I'm so glad this one came up. One of my favorite things to do is discover new, independent artists. This guy is great. Austin, TX holds a huge music & film festival every year called South by Southwest. Many big listers are discovered there. KT Tunstall, Norah Jones, among others. You can download all the music for free off of their website. www.sxsw.com. This particular song was from 2006.
10. Joss Stone, Killing Time. This girl is unbelievable. She's only 18 and has the voice of a 30+ yr. old. She's got so much soul and passion. She has a bluesy/pop/alternative sound that's completely original. Love it!
OK. Now you play. That was a lot of fun. Music is so therapeutic for me & it was good to hear it after laying in bed for 2 days...and I'm still in bed & have been the whole time (except for bathroom breaks of course), but with the convenience of a laptop and a wireless connection I have been able to blog a bit. Thank goodness because one can only handle so much daytime trashtastic tv.
