I might be a convert

I've never been a huge football fan. I like a good game here and there, so I'll catch the big rival game...but other than that I stay out of the picture and don't know who's who. However, after having a first hand look at the players (wow!), locker room, press box, field, drills, coaches and staff at the BYU 4th annual Women's Football clinic, I'm hooked!

The field seemed so much smaller than I thought it would
My mom had heard about it and said it looked fun so she invited me along (she happened to have several of the players in one of her classes this summer and they convinced her to come). I'm so glad they did. It started with a light dinner and then we got a personal tour of the locker rooms & press box.
The lockers each have a plaque inside listing who has carried that number before, it's part of Bronco Mendenhall's emphasis on carrying on traditions...pretty cool.
Then there was a Q&A period. After that, we split up into groups and had time with players and coaches. They saved the best for last when we went out on the field and practiced all the drills. I couldn't help but notice the small smirks on their faces as they watched us all try. They were such good sports! Coach Mendenhall wrapped up the evening & said we were the most intimidating group of people he'd have to talk to all season :)

So, come Aug. 30th I'll be cheering for my new friends Max Hall, Harvey Unga, Dennis Pitta, Travis Bright, and Wayne Latu. Go Cougars!

It looks like a lot of fun! I love the picture of you, your mom and Max Hall. My husband is a HUGE Cougar fan and he is a little jealous of your experience. :-) I will think of you when I am watching (and hearing about) all of the games this season!

Can I tell you how envious Jason will be when I make him read your post?? He's such a die hard I think you'll bring tears to his eyes. Locker rooms, field time, arms around players?? He would KILL for the opportunity!!:)
