...

I run to say "You can do it!"
I run to buy cute running skirts and other running gear from time to time.
I run so when I lay in bed exhausted at night I feel like I deserve a good night's sleep.
I run for the thrill of the finish line.

I run to be my own cheerleader.
I run to be like my sister.
I run for that achy feeling that tells me I pushed myself.
I run so I have something to talk about with my running friends.

I run to have a reason to get out of bed early in the morning.
I run because someone once asked me if I was a runner and although I wasn't at the time, I answered "yes."
I run to add to my collection of race t-shirts.

I run to see friends on the trail.
I run so my son knows that it's important to set goals and work hard for things--& in hopes that he'll learn to love it one day.
I run to prove to myself that I can overcome the pain.

I run to see my legs get stronger.
I run to say "You did it!"

I run to remind myself why I run.

Wow... you just put into words so many thoughts I have about running. I LOVE this Mariah! Very moving. And I love that we have the same hobby!

I love this! I miss you. Sorry to be so hard to connect with this summer. We'll be out of town next week then nothing planned besides swimming lessons for two weeks. A park day would be wonderful.
